In order to use an investing or retirement account with Oportun, you are required to pass an identity verification check with our partner. You will also be required to pass identity verification to sign up for banking.
To verify your identity we'll ask a few basic questions, like your legal name, birthday, and social security number. The information you give us is secured and verified through our trusted partner, and not shared without your consent.
Identity verification issues
If our partner is unable to verify the info you've provided, you will not be able to open an Oportun investing or retirement account.
Similarly, you will not be able to use banking if the information you provided while signing up could not be verified.
