How the savings bonus is calculated
Saving with Oportun rewards you with a 0.10% annual savings bonus paid every 3 months. Your bonus amount is calculated from the average daily balance in your Oportun account over the previous 3 months — including Rainy Day savings and money accrued toward goals.
Because the savings bonus is 0.10% annually, paid out quarterly, the amount you receive each time is approximately 0.025%. For example, if your average daily balance over the past 3 months was $4,000 then your savings bonus for that period will be approximately $4,000 x (0.10% ÷ 4) = $1.
Note: the exact amounts may vary because Oportun bases it on the number of days in that quarterly period rather than the constants above.
Your next bonus payout date
To check on your next bonus, choose the Save & Invest tab on the Oportun app and scroll down to the Rewards and Protection section to see a countdown of when your next bonus will be paid out.
Tapping on the Savings Bonus button will also show you all your past bonuses, and a total of all you've earned so far.
Disabling the bonus

Only accounts that have been active for the entire 3-month period are eligible to receive a Savings Bonus. Every Bonus is subject to Oportun Rewards Terms and Conditions.
