Adding money from a linked bank account

Both savings-only and banking members can move money to where you need it by tapping Transfer Money in the Oportun app.  

Just choose where to draw money from, select where you want it to go, and enter an amount to move. 


For banking members:

1) Tap the Transfer Money button
2) In the From field, select your bank account
3) You can only choose Spending in the To field, but can later move funds to Savings and Bills when the transfer posts
4) Enter the amount you want to add
5) Tap Make Transfer

 

For members using savings-only:

1) Tap the Transfer Money button
2) In the From field, select your bank account
3) In the To field, choose the goal you want to add to
4) Enter the amount you want to add
5) Tap Make Transfer


Funds added to goals or to Spending from linked bank accounts can take 3-5 business days to fully post.

What does "Pending" mean?

If you see transfers in your balance activity that are listed as "pending," it means the funds are in transit and being settled with your bank. While pending, your bank is working with us to process and approve the transaction.
